Are you suffering from a stinky house? Is the main source of bad odor coming from your wool rug? Are you tired of vacuuming it and cleaning it and the odor does not leave? If this is your situation, then it's a common one. Most wool rugs when they are bought new have shedding problems, and sometimes after a few months or so they get bad smells.
When your wool rug is stuck with an odor, what usually comes in mind first is to vacuum it. That should be merely the first step, not the only one. A rug can sometimes leave out bad smells for several reasons. Usually because we do not clean them often. The dirt and filth piles up on top of each other until the rug itself is made of mostly filth and therefore let's out a bad smell.
Even if you are always vacuuming it, it is important to wash it the right way every once in a while or the filth will remain hidden in it.
If, however, the smell started from when you purchased it new then your problem is a complete different situation. There are many ways to cure it. One of the most affective ways is to allow it to lie flat upside down under the sun for 24 hours. That usually distinguishes the smell quickly.
You should also know that the odor did not start from the materials which the rug is made of. It usually comes from the chemicals which are applied during shipping. If the odor can not be removed than the best thing to do is contact the company in which you purchased it from and ask for another. The smell is only going to get worse as the days pass, so the quicker you get rid of it the better.
If you can not contact the company for any reason at all, then you should just deal with matters yourself. You can buy an ozone machine which changes the chemicals and removes the bad smell as it turns them into oxygen. It is going to cost you some money but if you paid good money for your rug then it will be worth it.
